Region setting
Introduction
The Region setting specifies in which Azure instance the current tenant is located. It is used when configuring authentication so that contentACCESS connects to the correct Azure cloud environment for the tenant.
Microsoft Azure hosts multiple instances of Azure cloud services that are isolated from each other. The most commonly used instance is the Azure Public Cloud, which operates several data centers around the world where hosted data is replicated and stored. However, government regulations in some countries impose special requirements, and Microsoft has deployed isolated Azure instances to meet these scenarios:
- The German cloud, hosted by Deutsche Telekom in Germany.
- The Government Cloud, hosted in the USA.
Configure the Region setting
Choose the option that matches where the tenant is hosted:
- Global – if your tenant is hosted in the Azure Public Cloud instance.
- Germany – if your tenant is hosted in the German Cloud (hosted by Deutsche Telekom).
- Custom – if you need to specify custom values.

Important: Users located inside an isolated Azure instance will NOT be able to log in to other instances, such as the Azure Public Cloud or the Government Cloud.
