General system configurations

Introduction

The System tab in Central Administration provides access to the general system settings of contentACCESS, organized into configuration groups. From here, administrators can manage application-wide settings, security, services, tenants, and client applications.

Note: Only a user with Manage system permissions has the right to configure system settings.

System configuration groups

The system settings are organized into the following configuration groups:

  • Application settings: Set by default, but can be changed if required (not recommended).
  • Security: Contains all users of contentACCESS and the default system roles. Administrators can also configure new custom roles for users, set up new authentication providers, and view the list of invitations from here.
  • Services: Allows activating the license key, setting up external accessibility settings, changing system database connections, defining default values for clustering, and more. The notification schedulers can also be defined here, on the Schedules page.
  • Tenants: Allows administrators to create new tenants and create databases for these tenants.
  • Client Applications: Provides access to the contentACCESS client applications. The virtual drive must be configured here if File system archive is used.

Note: If you do not use Email Archive based jobs and also do not use accessGATE Mobile, the FQDN settings (accessible under System → Services → System) are irrelevant.

Each of these configuration groups is described in detail in the following subchapters.
