contentACCESS Outlook add-in
Introduction
The contentACCESS Outlook add-in allows users to retrieve archived items directly within Outlook. It captures actions such as forwarding or replying to retrieved items and updates the corresponding changes in both the archive database and the shortcut item.
Currently, only message class changes are supported when a retrieved item is sent away (forwarded or replied to).
info
Note: Add-ins are not supported by In-Place Archive mailboxes in Outlook.
Terminology
The following terms are used throughout the Outlook add-in documentation and may require further explanation:
- Message class: The type of the item in the mailbox. The message class defines which kind of form will be used to render the item in Outlook, OWA, and other clients.
- Outlook form: Each message in Outlook is rendered using a form. There are standard forms (Note, Post, etc.) and custom forms. Custom forms are derived from the standard ones and extend the standard functionality.
- contentACCESS Outlook form: A custom Outlook form belonging to contentACCESS.
- Standard shortcut: A type of archiving where the message class of the item is changed by contentACCESS.
- Primary mailbox: The main mailbox in the Outlook profile.
- Additional mailbox: A mailbox that the user can load into the Outlook profile next to the primary mailbox. To add one, select Account settings in Outlook, change the existing profile, and add the next mailbox to the profile. You need permission to access the selected mailbox.
- Shared folder: A folder that one Exchange account shares with other people on the same Exchange server.
