File Archive

With the help of File system archive jobs, it is possible to archive data located either in local file systems or on network shares (UNC paths). The time period, for which the documents are available in the archive, is set via retention categories. The File Archive database and storage are always assigned to a root folder (chapter File Archive settings). This prevents the user from archiving the same root to multiple databases/storages and having trouble with retrieving the file.

The archived files can be viewed either in contentACCESS Portal (more information here), or in Virtual drive (more information here). It is also possible to restore the archived files from shortcuts, or to recover them if the original was deleted from the file system.
