Introduction
The software and hardware requirements define the minimum and recommended specifications needed to run the contentACCESS installation wizard. Before installing contentACCESS, verify that the target server meets these hardware and software requirements to ensure a successful installation and stable operation.
Hardware requirements
The following hardware requirements are needed to run the contentACCESS installation wizard:

Software requirements
The following software components are required:
- Supported operating systems (64-bit only): Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2025. Learn more about the supported operating systems here.
- Microsoft SQL Server: MS SQL 2022, MS SQL 2025.
- Microsoft Outlook (64-bit version): 2016, 2019, 2021, 2024, Microsoft 365.
- .NET Framework 4.8; .NET 9.
- Internet Information Services (IIS) and ASP.NET 4.8.
- iFilters for indexing, available for download here.
- JAVA (search server only).
