RFA use-cases

Introduction

Remote File Archiver (RFA) supports different customer types, environments, and configurations. This section describes the basic RFA use cases and possible configurations.

RFA use cases

RFA was initially developed to allow on-site customers to archive local file systems to a contentACCESS environment hosted in the cloud as a service (SaaS).

RFA can be used to archive:

  • Local file servers.
  • Domain-joined workstations.
  • Individual workstations without a domain, for example, in small companies with up to 20 employees.
